Android Central Live: Cisco talks about helping developers build for software defined networks

Enterprise infrastructure is complicated, but Cisco aims to make developing less so

Cisco is a "strategic alliance partner" with Samsung, so seeing them at the Samsung Developers Conference wasn't surprising. they are big players in both the enterprise and the networking field, and through hardware and software they offer solutions to a lot of the things business users need.

Things like WebEx conferencing, the Jabber messaging protocol, and of course hardware like the Android-powered DX650 office phone are made better with additional software development. In fact, they have a whole conference of their own coming up on November 15 called Cisco DevNet. Folks at SDC13 who drop by Cisco's booth will gain free entry to DevNet in November.

This stuff isn't easy to design or develop. Cisco plans to help with tutorials, SDKs and other software tools, and most importantly, sessions about it all to get developers on the right track to start developing enterprise applications.
